Shannon Forsyth

Shannon completed a Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta in 2014. Before physiotherapy, she completed a certificate in athletic therapy as well as her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist training (CSCS). She has worked with professional basketball and rugby teams, university level soccer, basketball, and volleyball teams, as well as high school hockey teams.

Since graduating, Shannon has worked as a physiotherapist in private practice settings in orthopedics and sports medicine. She has also worked in schools and the community helping children build confidence in their gross motor skills and ensuring accessibility in and around schools. Shannon enjoys working with children and adults of all ages with a variety of orthopedic and neurological conditions.

Shannon’s children have all had difficulties with constipation in infancy and throughout the toddler years. Navigating these challenges piqued her interest in pediatric pelvic health and she began training in this area. Working from a family-centred framework, she can help with issues such as bedwetting, fecal incontinence, and constipation.

When she is not working, Shannon enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. Her favourite activities include road biking, any form of skiing, and playing volleyball with her friends.
